Why didn't show the first episode of season 7 of Gilmore Girls tonight?

I know the season ended like a year ago, but they have been doing repeats. On Friday they showed the last episode of season 6 and they should have shown the first episode of season 7 but they showed the the first episode of season 1. Why did they do this? Shouldn't they have shown season 7?
