Why is it like that in hollywood?

recently ive been hooked onto watching horror movies...i used to watch english movies mostly on star movies and hbo where most of the movies were edited...but to quench my ever increasing thirst for horror flicks i began downloading and now ive realised that theyre just full of skin show and profanities...not only in horror movies but other movies tooo....why is there so much in hollywood movies..why so much profanity?script writers have writers block???doesnt this annoy you people?
